Overview

VoiceNote - AI Recorder (hereinafter "VoiceNote" or "the App") is developed and operated by Personal Assistant Intelligence PTE. LTD. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Data Collection & Storage

The App collects and processes the following types of data:

• Audio Recordings — Your voice recording files are stored entirely on your device locally and are never uploaded to any server.
• Transcription Data — Speech-to-text processing is performed on-device via Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Transcription results are stored locally on your device.
• AI Analysis Data — When you use AI features (summarization, intent analysis, topic segmentation, or post-session chat), the transcription text (not audio) and session context information (session type, language) are sent to the third-party AI service you have selected. Analysis results are stored locally on your device.

User Consent for AI Data Sharing

Before any data is transmitted to a third-party AI service, the App requires your explicit consent:

• Consent Prompt — When you first use an AI feature, a dedicated consent screen is presented. This screen clearly discloses: (1) what data will be sent (transcription text and session context), (2) what data will NOT be sent (audio files, personal identity information, API keys), (3) which third-party AI service will receive the data, and (4) the purposes of the data sharing.
• Voluntary Consent — You may decline consent. If you do, all recording and transcription features continue to work normally; only AI-powered features (summarization, intent analysis, topic segmentation, and post-session chat) will be unavailable.
• Revocable at Any Time — You can revoke your consent at any time via Settings → Privacy & Data within the App. Upon revocation, no further data will be sent to any AI service.

Local Data Storage

The App uses Apple's SwiftData framework to securely store all user data locally on your device. This means your recordings, transcriptions, and AI analysis results are kept on your iPhone or Apple Watch and are not stored on our servers.

API Key Security

If you configure a Claude API key for AI features, it is securely stored in the iOS Keychain. Keychain is Apple's encrypted secure storage mechanism, ensuring your API key receives the highest level of protection.

Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with any third parties, except when you explicitly consent to use AI features. The App supports the following third-party AI service providers. Only the provider you have selected in the App settings will receive your data:

• Anthropic (Claude) — Transcription text is sent to Anthropic's API for AI analysis. Data handling is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI (GPT) — Transcription text is sent to OpenAI's API. Data handling is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Zhipu AI (GLM) — Transcription text is sent to Zhipu AI's API. Data handling is governed by Zhipu AI's Terms.
• DeepSeek — Transcription text is sent to DeepSeek's API. Data handling is governed by DeepSeek's Privacy Policy.
• Moonshot AI — Transcription text is sent to Moonshot's API. Data handling is governed by Moonshot's Privacy Policy.
• Doubao (ByteDance Volcano Engine) — Transcription text is sent to Doubao's API. Data handling is governed by Volcano Engine's Privacy Policy.
• Custom Provider — If you configure a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint, transcription text is sent to the endpoint URL you specify. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy practices of your chosen provider.

What is sent: Only the transcription text (converted from audio by on-device speech recognition) and session context (session type, language). Audio recordings are never sent.

Beyond the above, we do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to any third party.

User Accounts

The App does not require creating any user account. You do not need to register, log in, or provide any personally identifiable information.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from within the App, including audio recordings, transcriptions, and AI analysis results. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You can also delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We recommend reviewing this page periodically for any changes.
